Leading Bordeaux
specialists since 1990.

At Nobilis, we are proud to be one of Canada’s longest-standing independently owned wine importers. For more than 30 years, we have served Western Canada as a trusted partner to hospitality and retail, building a reputation as a key resource for fine wine and spirits.
We see ourselves as much more than importers. We are ambassadors for our producers, advocates for our colleagues across the beverage industry, and firm believers that wine is meant to be opened, shared, and enjoyed around the table. Every bottle we represent is chosen with intention—rooted in place, people, and purpose.
Under new ownership and leadership from Rick Underwood, Nobilis has experienced significant growth over the past two years. With an expanded team, broader reach, and a strengthened portfolio, we are reinforcing our foundation—not just for today, but for the many years ahead.
The name Nobilis comes from Latin, meaning “noble”: well-born, well-known, and distinguished by outstanding qualities. Its origin traces back to the Indo-European root gno—“to know,” or gnosis. This idea of knowledge, respect, and recognition lies at the heart of everything we do.

Nobilis was built on relationships between -

bottles and tables

Nobilis was built on relationships—between producers and importers, sommeliers and retailers, bottles and tables. From the very beginning, the company has been shaped by a deep respect for wine, hospitality, and the people who bring them together.

Our story is inseparable from Marc Vigneron, whose vision and dedication helped establish Nobilis as a cornerstone of fine wine in Western Canada. Through Marc’s leadership, Nobilis developed long-standing relationships with producers of integrity and built a reputation for thoughtful, principled importing. His influence laid the foundation for the values that continue to guide us today: authenticity, consistency, and trust.

For more than three decades, Nobilis has been firmly rooted in Alberta, working hand-in-hand with the province’s hospitality community and independent retailers. From dining rooms to wine shops, we have grown alongside our partners—supporting evolving wine programs, educating teams, and helping place wines where they truly belong. Alberta’s dynamic, passionate trade has played a defining role in shaping who we are, and remains at the heart of our identity.

As Nobilis continues to evolve, so too does our reach. In 2026, we proudly opened Nobilis British Columbia, marking an important new chapter in our history. This expansion reflects both the natural progression of our relationships and our commitment to serving Western Canada with the same care, knowledge, and integrity that have defined us for decades.

Looking ahead, we remain guided by our past—honouring the people who built Nobilis, the community that supported it, and the belief that great wine is not about scale, but about intention. Our history is still being written, one partnership, one bottle, and one table at a time.
